A letter has been sent to all Plan members outlining some developments regarding the Plan. No action is needed but questions are invited about the developments, to be received by 9th August.
In summary, the stated intent is to secure members’ benefits by taking out an insurance contract, and in preparation for this to change some of the Plan Rules to ensure that existing practice is continued. This seems to be a positive move to ensure the stability of pensions in the long term.
Due to the short timescale NTLPA cannot offer to collate questions from members but will be asking for clarification on certain points. Members should therefore address any questions/concerns/comments directly to the address given (Caroline West). NTLPA would however be interested to receive a copy of any such responses, to secretary@ntlpa.org.uk, to judge overall views from those who would be happy to share them.
